I offer both full and partial manuscript assessments of genre fiction, with a preference for speculative fiction. I'm an award-nominated writer, a literary judge (British Fantasy, Te Pae Tawhiti), a manuscript assessor for SpecFicNZ, literary speaker and panellist, anthology editor, and mentor. 

My assessments include a marked-up manuscript, a report and a follow-up discussion.

In the report I cover:
Craft: author voice, dialogue, filtering, show-not-tell, point of view etc.
Story: plot, pacing, character development, setting, structure and genre expectations.
